Nokia N95 8GB NAM - How to change the Product Code?
How to change a Product Code on North American N95-4 8GB?
It comes with a new Product code: 0561948
HW Version: 3000
And latest software loaded on the phone V1.2.011
Nokia Software Updater v1.4.0en-us gives an error:
Phone is not supported (The phone model is not currently supported)
Is there a way to get original software of the phone and after changing the product code reflash it, without using a nokia software updater?

if you have the n95-4 then you dont want to change the product code. you have the latest firmware. and besides, i dont think you can use the euro code for the -4 like other n95's did. its a different product code altogether i believe. and again, your phone has the very latest firmware possible, there's nothing better out.

The purpose of changing the product code is to get a desired languages on the phone, I do care less about the latest code.
And the only way it could be accomplished, is by changing a product code to a selected country and then reflesh the unit with the same or latest code. I do not believe there is the other way to add a desired language?

I have the same problem as you while I tried to change the product code for a Chinese language update. but it failed with the error"the phone model is not currently supported". I called Nokia care and they said there is no new update package availabe for this N95-4 phone so the error comes out.

I see, so I'm not the only one. Those 3G US Nokias to new, will give some time and it will come. The only thing I am worry about is to have a proper product code for 95-4, I would think is the same ones as for 95-2 version but I could be wrong.

The NSU now find the phone and report that software is up to date on RM-421.
Did anyone here knows/has the list of Product Codes for this phone?

It would stun me to find more than one ..
product code for this very market specific model.
The hardware has been designed for the rather different US 3G frequencies - I'm not a firmware programmer, but I assume that the firmware and hardware are very closely connected.
So in short .. if you want other languages on your N95-NAM I think you are SOL.
I hope for your sakes I'm wrong but I doubt it.

Is there other option to add a specific language, if product code can't be changed? May be, third party software?

I think there has been some progress with debranding the n95-4. Over at howardforums there is a thread on debranding the rogers version since they launched a version. I think chinese was kinda supported. The product codes are posted in that thread but i don't know what they are. Search the s60 forum over there for the thread.

I didn't find any product codes on howardforum for 95-4. If anyone has a specific country product code for 95-4 please post here.
