N82 vs N95 vs Casio - fight!

You've got to love high end comparisons like this - Abul over at Symbian in Motion has put together a great photo shootout between the Nokia N82, the N95 and a Casio Exilim (also 5 megapixels). The shots are selected well, there's apposite comment and there's even a linked Flickr gallery with many more comparison photos.

Read on in the full article.

I have an N82 for a week now and I am amazed at how good the pictures are. It is just stunning and makes me just forget my N95!!!!

The shots are just too different - in time, space and lighting conditions. Problems look more like user error to me.

I thought the comparsions were perfectly fine. It shows exactly how bad the n95s algorithms can be and the progress Noka made by the n82's time.

I am not going to comment on the photo's in question but having had an N95-2 and N82 I must conclude that in almost every condition the N82 images outperform the N95-2.

I would also like to say if you show images from the Casio and the N82 side by side at full res the differences would be huge due to the size of the Nokia's sensor and the noise reduction algorithms used.

Without doubt the N82 currently is the best camera phone on the market based on overall picture quality, some might argue that the G800 would be because it has optical zoom but Samsung still have some work to do on their noise reduction and colour rendering.

N82 is my favourite phone in a long list of devices I have had over the years

N95 picture quality

No doubt about the best quality of N82 because I am sure that both light sensor and algorythm have been improved. But, the images have been captured with different conditions of light (see the shadow of the castle) and distance (see the second series of photos). I work as a researcher and I can say that it is not correct to compare things in different conditions. So, be careful people before saying that your N95 is useless as a digital camera.
