N95 - some apps won't make noise

Can anyone help me figure out what's up with my N95-3 ? When I first got it (less than a week ago), the camera played a sound when I pressed the shutter, and it also played a sound on start/stop of video recording. That's stopped now. It's completely silent and I have no idea why. I also have a bunch of games installed and none of them make a noise. They all ask me if I want to hear audio, to which I naturally answer yes, but I never hear anything.

These make sound:

Playing MP3's.
Playing Videos (RealPlayer).
Playing emtube videos (streaming or saved files).
Keypresses.

These don't make any sound:

Games.
Camera Image Shutter.
Camera Video Record start/stop.

Any ideas ?

Have you accidently switched it to silent profile? e.g, holding the # key for a few seconds switches to silent proflile. Look at your home screen and does it have the word "silent" to the right side of your clock.

You can switch back by holding the # key for a few seconds or just tap the power button and scroll to "general" and select.

The sound in Camera, and any sound in Java games/applications are all dependent on the Warning Tones setting in your current profile. If you are in silent profile, go back to General; alternatively just edit all the profiles to make sure Warning Tones is enabled, if you want those sounds all the time.

Yeah, that was it. Thanks How bizarre that some apps route their sound through the warning tones filter.

Great info to know. If I had a site and a FAQ, I'd put that in it It's very useful if you want to play games in a noise-sensitive environment.

Hehe yeah, but it's only Java. Native Symbian games won't take notice of the Warning Tones settings.
