n95 8gig strange wlan problem

i have a very strange problem with my n95 8gig!
whenever i try to find any wireless networks near my wireless router in my flat it will go from 5 APs to 2, and will almost never pick up my AP even if i am right on top of it!
even if i manage to connect to it i loose connection after about 10 seconds!
the strange thing is that i can connect using my computer to my AP with no problem and my N95 8gig to any other WLAN with no problem!
is there something i have overlooked?

I had the same problem at home before. I had a 5ghz - 300MB/s AP and my N95 8GB could not detect it although I could pick up all my neighbor's signals and connect to them. I think it has to do with the compatibility. You can look into the settings of your router/AP and maybe look up the wifi info for the N95...let me know. I haven't really had time to research this

I had the same issue about 18 months ago. Is your router a NetGear? Early Netgear firmware was not reliable with Nokia WLAN handsets.

Regardless of who made your router, go to their support website and upgrade the router firmware... can't hurt and almost always makes the router more reliable...
