RockNscroll - Tilting Interface for the N95 On Its Way

While not set available for download, Keynetix's RockNscroll system for S60 has been demonstrated at CES, and will be on show at both 3GSM and CTIA Wireless. A software solution for the N95 to harness the accelerometers, their demo video of the software has raised many an eyebrow in the blogosphere. The software will be available from free on their website forum in the near future.

Read on in the full article.

Isn't this just copying Nokmote idea from Samir?

Nokmote doesn't work well at the moment because unless you lay it flat it doesn't work properly. I like many I'm sure never hold a device flat - I have it about angled about 45 degrees for comfortable viewing but on Nokmote it assumes your tilting down so moves accordingly which is very annoying. This software seems to have solved this issue by using flick action only.

viipottaja is on a distinguished road
All this flicking around looks and must get really annoying very quickly. The only way to make it not annoying would probably be to be able to activate or deactivate for each application separately. Tilting would be very useful in browsing the web or going through long lists of songs etc. but I would like to be able to have full control of when to use it and when not.

No credit to Bery?

This was posted yesterday by Bery95 on the symbian web blog. Why isn't there a mention of this?

If this is some amazing coincidence, I apologise.

Without asking Ewan I can't be 100% sure where he got this from, but I would imagine he was sent an email or a tip by someone. We're always careful to credit primary sources where we know them as you'll see in numerous other news posts.
