Hi,

I have seen quite a few of these 7650's on ebay and other auction sites. Does anyone know if these phones will function properly in the UK?

I'm basically interested in the digital camera and being able to download pictures to my PC. I'm on the Vodafone network.

Thanks

The phone is dual band so a handset should operate anywhere in Europe and Asia (with GSM coverage). Just stick your SIM in and have fun. Note I don't know if any operators have a pricing strategy for MMS in the UK yet.

I wouldn't recommend getting one of these phones. Wait until the official launch.

We'll see soon I guess.

According to <!-- BBCode auto-link start -->http//www.expansys.com/product.asp?sbadd=NOK_7650&code=NOK_7650<!-- BBCode auto-link end --> we're looking at June 2002 [img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif[/img]

I'd prefer it to be tomorrow [img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

Anybody seen these;

I reckon the two in the middle look ten years old already. More like the first ever Psion organiser than a Smartphone for the 21st century.

I'm assuming that your posting shows that these piles of crap are going to have M$ written on them. Aswell as being less stylish than an 80s breifcase mobile....

If you could only hear the fanboy$ going on about those phones that look like they were designed with Lego! They believe that <I>creationism</I> is the belief that Bill Gates built the whole IT world into what it is today, in six days.

I'd have to have a full frontal lobotomy before considering buying one of those bricks, but then I'd also start supporting Neath rugby club as well and I don't know which is worse [img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]

If I remember correctly they are (left to right) wireless iPaq, Microsoft/Texas Instruments, Sendo, and BTCellnet PPC. The Sendo was supposed to be launched end of last year, but that never happened. Microsoft bought into the company to ensure they would manufacture it, but I haven't heard anything more about it. There was speculation there were problems integrating the software or something - I dunno. The iPaq PPC and BTCellnet PPC are supposed to be out in the UK before the end of the year. BTCellnet's management must be on E! I think the S-E P800 will kill these in the consumer market because of one special factor (not the one you think!), but they should do well in the corporate sector. As for the Sendo the product design looks like designers were having a very bad hair day, and were so hungover they left that job to the office monkey. Sheesh! But hell they've all got Microsoft behind them, and they managed to make a sucess of some of the worst examples of software in the history of the 20th century [img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]
