The way I do it is with the synchronise functionality in PC Suite.
Plug in your old phone, synchronise your contacts with Outlook, or similar.
Then plug in your new phone, and synchronise that. All your contacts should then copy across. I've not encountered any problems yet doing it this way.

There's also a Switch application on the N95 which will probably be on the N82 as well. To quote from the program itself:
Quote:
|
This application transfers contacts, calendar entries and some other data between compatible Nokia phones free of charge.
|
On the N95 it's found under Menu -> Tools -> Utilities. Dunno if it's the same on the N82 but you'd need to run the program on your new phone in order to do it. It will work over bluetooth.
[EDIT] I've just checked the N82 manual and the Switch program can be found in the location above

it says 'call' for ALL numbers that call you??
Or is it only certain ones? When it only says call its normally an international or withheld system number.... not seen it where it just says that for every number. Has anything changed from your service provider?

If you have the numbers in both your SIM and your phonebook, they are in 2 places. The Nokia doesn't show up a number if it is in the phone twice effectively.

it wont cause a problem unless you are using both memories simultaniously. If you have a number under both memories and your using SIM and Phone memory then you will just get call, or the number shown.

Something else you have to consider as well is that SIM card contacts comprise of just a name and number. They don't support additional details, like address, a 2nd contact number, notes, or a thumbnail.
