Windows live messenger not working
Hi,
I've got windows live messenger for my N95, but I can't connect anymore...
I updated my phone to the newest firmware, and it worked for a few days. and now it just says that it's unable to connect, and that I should try again later....
I know that when I connect to a wlan network, I can connect. but I want to im on the move!
Is there a way to work around this problem?
thanks!

how long has it not been working? occasionally I've found that their service does become unavailable for a while. if it's only just started i'd suggest wait a few hours and see it anything changes.

I've got a version of Windows Live Messanger that keeps saying "Only available in mainland China and Taiwan."
Where did you guys get yours please?

It started a few days to a week ago... After I updated my phone. At first I didn't get the error message, but it kept happening more often, and now it doesn't work at all anymore! :( I can connect when I'm on my pc, and the msn site says the service is up and running, but I'm stuck... Please help me, thanks!

have you changed your password, or can you reenter it... I know you sometimes get that message about 'unable to connect' and its a bad pwd.

Also, are you using Windows Live Messenger 9 Beta? This version has a 'Keep me signed in' option and doesn't let me sign in from anything else unless I'm using a WLM9 client.

Sorry Kontraband,
I should have clarified my question by stating that I'm using an N95 8GB which doesn't have a Windows Live folder in Download.
Come to think off it, there's quite a few things less on the 8GB Download like internet radio.

Just not there. Have refreshed.
Seems strange that two almost identical phones should offer such different Downloads.
Apart from Windows Live and Internet Radio, the 8GB doesn't offer Boingo WiFi, Easy WiFi, etc. It does however a lot more paid for items though.
What they both offer is Speech2Go. However it only works on the N95-1 and not the 8GB as confirmed in an email from them in reply to a query from me. Odd that it should be included then.

Cheers kontraband.
That's exactly the little sucker I was looking for.
Works a treat!
Didn't even have to install the "dep" file as I already have Gizmo and Conversation.
I wonder why Nokia don't offer it under Downloads on the 8GB.

... ooops, sorry... I didnt even realise this was your thread! HAHAHAH...
What network are you on? It seems that if you can connect by wifi but not 3G etc etc then it looks like a network issue. Did you change anything from your fw update? I/e branding???
