Tomtom AND music simultaneously on N73
First post for me here.... Learned much through browsing though, a great forum.
Playing music while using Tomtom doesn't seem possible on mine. If I updated to the latest ME firmware would that help, or is there simply not the processor/memory capacity for this? Thanks.

what do u mean by 'running' tomtom? are u talking about doing 'active' navigation or just the 'tomtom' application open.
i have a 'standard' n73. v3.0638. i just did an experiment after reading this post:
1. i started tomtom on my n73. as i'm sitting in my room, active navigation is not possible. so i created a 'complicated' route with lots of 'turns' and started a 'demo' on the route at 100% speed, so that i get 'turning instructions' every few seconds.
2. then i started the music player and started playing a .mp3 file.
both of them were playing nicely together. i could hear the music in the background when tomtom was in the foreground and vice-versa. no problem.
i cant verify now what will happen during 'real time' navigation, but i'm pretty sure i'll get the same results.

works on my ME with the latest firmware, like PF I haven't tried it while navigating though
I started music player first and started an mp3 then pressed the hangup button (music still plays) then started TT
to switch between TT and MP3 I just press the music button to the left of the keys

Thanks for the replies!
Interesting stuff. If I run TomTom then use the music button to open up the music player, TomTom dissapears.
In fact if I switch to do anything else on the phone I think it closes.
Likewise if I start TomTom while music player is playing in the background, music player will close.
Multitasking works fine with other apps, only noticed the issue with Tomtom.
Maybe I need to try uploading to the latest firmware - currently I have the latest Orange firmware, but I think that might be a bit behind the latest Nokia.

u might be running out of memory. maybe some program running in the background.
also, what do u mean by 'close'? does tomtom/music 'shut down' completely, or just disappear to the background?
if u keep the menu button pressed for a few seconds, it becomes a task manager and u can see what programs are running.
u can close a program by pressing the 'C' button.
u can bring a program to the foreground by selecting it.
u can get out of the task manager by pressing 'cancel'
