7650 hangs up when you close the keypad
I'm having a problem and it's very annoying. When your using the 7650 keypad and somebody calls up, you answer the phone, but if you close the keypad it gives them a busy tone and when you do answer and want to close the keypad it hangs up on them aswell. This is especially annoying when you are using the handsfree kit and u just want to put the 7650 in your pocket but u gotta keep it open. Is there a solution for this? Thanks!

Totally right..
HI!..
i was thinking about the same problem...
Just if i want to call someone that is not on my contacts...
i open the key pad.. write the number and then i press the CALL key...
then i want to close the keypad because i donīt need it anymore and is more confortable to talk with out the keypad opened.. so..
if i do that i cancel the call when i close the keypad...
I know that if i mark the numbers then close the keypad, and then
i make the call with the options menu CALL... i can do that..
but is sad that the nice CALL KEY on the keypad will never be used
So.. somebody have to make an app option (like the lock or unlock keypad), and add the HANG UP or NOT the call when we close the keypad... that will be the most DOWNLOADED app on this forum
i am sure of that
well.. iīll keep wating that...
please donīt tell me that v.4.39 Firmware came with that option?
nobody mention it that yet..
cya!

The Nokia sliding keypad/cover concept is similar to that of the flip on flip phones. It's been there ever since the 88xx series and it's part of the design. You just have to get used to answer calls by sliding it open and hang-up by closing it.

I preffer
I preffer to use the slide open only if i need the keypad... for text input or to type numbers that are not on contacts...
The size of phone donīt need to be so big when you are just talking
By now i am opening the keypad.. i type the number then i close the keypad and then i make the call with option call...
In that way i keep the keypad close and i can talk
BTW!.. i know that SoftKeyPad App can help to this... nice app... but
i want to type numbers and letters with the keypad... itīs faster...
Anyway...
cya!

But the main problem is when somebody calls you and you already got ur keypad open. lets just say for example your playing a game and then somebody calls you, u can't just close the keypad, coz u'll hang up on the person, u gotta keep it open. So u gotz ta keep it open.
Also with the previous statement that it's just takes getting use to; flip phones like the Ericsson T20s has an option of not hanging up when the flip is closed. And when you have a handsfree attached, the flip can be closed. Thanks anyway
Hope somebody does come up with a program like AEFOX said, or maybe a fix for it. Ciao

When you are on a conversation, and you want to close the phone, you press the left softkey for about 2seconds and then you can close the phone. The converstaion will not be terminated.
By the way, no 3rd app needed.

Another way is to dial the number from the keypad, close it before making the call, then Options > Call
