MicroSDHC 8GB with the pre-8GB N95?

SanDisk is soon to be coming out with an 8GB microSDHC card, and I'm wondering if it would be compatible with my older (i.e., pre-8GB) N95? I currently have a 4GB microSDHC card in it, and SanDisk claims that any device that can use one size of microSDHC memory will be able to run with any other size.

Can anyone confirm that this would be the case with my N95, and that I could indeed use an 8GB microSDHC card with it?

Well O2 are selling the N95 and 8GB card, so I would say yes.

As do many of us. Considering they have upped the ram, screen size and battery on the newer one, a fixed capacity hard drive seems like a step backwards

Its not a drive, its flash memory.

My guess is that its meant to battle with the iphone. Granted, no touch screen, but bigger screen, increased battery, and 8GB internal storage.

Right... that's not exactly the point though. It's fixed at 8gb and yet there is already 8gb microSD. It would be better for Nokia to stick with that as the storage medium and just bundle an 8gb card. That gives the user the option to buy more memory cards or aupgrade to a bigger one when (inevitably) it becomes available

Indeed.

Nonetheless, I'm still torn about whether or not to get the new version, because the old one doesn't operate on any 3G bands in the US, or at least none that I know of in the New York area. The new model can use the US 3G frequencies offered by AT&T and, I believe, T-Mobile.
