Nokia N95 8GB and Tomtom
I'm thinking of updating my N95 to the N95 8GB - Haven't decided yet.
Does anyone know if it's possible to install Tomtom to the phone memory in Nokia phones?
There's no provision for a memory card in the 8GB model, so it'll mean installing it to the phone memory. But one of the folders on the memory card you'll need to copy across to the phone memory is the 'Private' folder, but this is protected on the phone memory and you can't access it. Is there another way to do it? Has anyone who's got the 8GB phone installed Tomtom on it?

Tom Tom works fine on the N95 8GB (with a bluetooth gps of course)
Just connect via USB and copy the files across as if it were a memory card. including the Private and Sys folders.
Works well, with no noticeable lag.

Installation Route 66 on Nokia N95 8GB
I try to install Route 66 on my Nokia N95 8GB. It still doesn't run. HELP!!
I got Route 66 on a DVD. The guy who sold it to me told me I had to copy the files (paste copy) from DVD to my internal 8GB-memory. Then should install it by running the Route 66-file.
Having this done, I tried to start Route 66 up by running the Route 66-icon, but then I get the message 'Resource error. Resource files are missing. Please reinstall the application'. So I did, but I still get the same error-message.
Could someone tell me what to do.
I got the DVD from someone who needed my IMEI-nr. for registration. He said it is on the DVD.
But looking at the files installed on my Nokia, I see questionmarks and it says the system doesn't recognize the filetypes: .RAR, .mif, h01, h02...., .dat, .DLL, .HLP, .prm, .mbm, .ogg. Though it recognizes .sis.
Please help!

R66 should be automatically installed via the installation-file on the DVD!
So: you don't have to copy manually the files . . .
Contact support of R66 if you have problems (off course, when your R66 is legal, but I think not!)

Hmm.
Im having some problems and REALLY REALLY would appreciate some help.
Im trying to get tomtom to work on my N95 8 gig but I cant get it to run.
I have a N95 and tom tom works fine on that, installs no probs. Ive even updated the firmware to version 20.0.015 and its all great.
HOWEVER.... I have updated my N95 8 gig to the same version and just cannot get tomtom to work on it, i get the tomtom flash screen with just the world spinning forever. It usually just comes up for a split second on the n95 just before the legal agreement page.
The only way I can stop the application is by switching the phone off and back on, otherwise it just says there.
The version of TomTom is TomTom 6.02 Symbian S60 3rd Ed.
I have read about people copying folders over, I have tried this and it doesnt work for me. Could someone perhaps help, or give a better explanation of the process your using..... Perhaps its my version of tomtom?
Thanks a lot in advance...

there you go - follow the link and as long as you have an invoice /purchase number you will get all the help you need .
But if as has been sugested you have a pirate copy then this forum can't help you as we don't / can't support pirate copy's or cracked versions of software.

Superb... Thanks mate...
I dont think its the software cos it works ok on my n95, but I'll speak to the tomtom support, perhaps its not compatible.
I never even thought about a pirate copy... esp for a phone... I cant believe people are that tight... lol
Thanks for the heads up...
Merry Xmas.

I have the N95 8 Gig and have Tom tom working fine on the phone now, however has anyone managed to get it to work in landscape mode on the screen?
It just dies on the screen if I flip the screen, i can just about see some of the menu options and manage to exit the application, to get it back.

Switch off the automatic screen rotation as well or it will blank out half way round a corner on you.
