BBC Radio 5 Live & 5 Live Extra on N95

I have discovered a way to listen to BBC Radio 5 Live & 5 Live Sports Extra on my N95 so I can listen to the Footy & Cricket.

You need to connect through Real Player on you handset.

In the OPTIONS menu select DOWNLOAD VIDEOS.

Select any of the next options.

Select which access point you wish yo use (WLAN etc)

Go to type in Web Address and type in:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/live/surestream.ram

or

http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/live/s...portsextra.ram

Click on Goto and the stream will open up in Real Player on your handset.

You can then save the link so next time you want to listen you don't have to type the address in. The file will be found in the VIDEO CLIPS FOLDER on your Memory Card or Phone Memory.

Hope this helps and if you need any help jusy let me know

Cheers

Martin

...you can then go to Streaming Links in Gallery and add it there, to make it easier to access in future.

This is one workaround for various streaming link problems. My way was:
- Use browser to go to the appropriate BBC web page.
- Select "listen live"
- Acknowledge the error message and select to listen in the standalone RealPlayer.
- RealPlayer launches and, for various reasons, can't play the stream.
- Exit out of that but choose to save the stream.
- Open Gallery - Streaming Links and add the stream that you just saved.

Not straightforward, is it? You can see why they need Ovi to bring these things to non-geeks.

You can just copy the .ram files from your PC to your phone Sounds folder using pc suite (save as.. from your browser), and they will appear in streaming links. Simple as that!

If you use opera as your browser on the N95 then after the error on the bbc page realplayer will open the stream thus negating the need to save the stream and restart real player
