Alarm/Speaker Phone Volume is suddenly Low

Hi,
I bought a SE W950i couple of months back. All was well till suddenly one fine day the alarm volume reduced drastically. I have all voume levels (Multi-media, alarm etc) at the maximum. When I select a tune for setting the alarm, and play it there (option to play and test while setting the alarm), it sounds loud -- as it used to earlier :-( But when the alarm rings, its barely audible. The vibrator sounds more than the alarm tone.

A couple of days back I checked the speaker phone volume and that sounded very low too...

plzzzzzzz help me .... I have the latest update (2.7.6.8-1) on my phone.

Amit

Exact Same Problem

I'm having the exact same problem. On two different W950i's.

Had 3 in total. Sent first one back as it was ringing an alarm that I had never set! But the volume was fine.

On the 2 replacement handsets, everything works fine except the volume is terribly low. I can only hear people during a call by putting it on max volume and making sure I am somewhere quiet. And the ring volume and the alarm volume is playing as though it is on the lowest setting, even though when I use the "find sound" option and play it there, it is the correct volume and nice and loud using the midpoint.

I rang Sony Ericsson customer services. They were clueless and told me I could send it to a Sony Ericsson engineer to check if there is a fault with the phone. I tried explaining it is clearly a software issue rather than a hardware issue. I know that it can play at the correct volume with the "find sound". And as it has happened with 2 handsets they are obviusly releasing the handsets with some kind of bug in the software...

There's no point in me ringing Orange again, they'll just send me another new handset that is shipped with the same fault.
