New firmware version 12.0.0.4 for Asian N95s

Only a 0.0.0.1 increment and I've no idea what fixes, if any, are implemented. You can get it by changing your product code to either 0534833 or 0536085 and running the latest Nokia Software Updater.

I've had it installed for all of 10 minutes and all I can say so far is that the main functions work fine. The font looks a bit different to me, like it's lost anti-aliasing... but I'm probably imagining that. However, when I put my N95 in landscape and look at the menu screen, some of the application names are now abbreviated, e.g. "Messag." and "Music plyr."

It doesn't have the new version of Maps or the forthcoming music-player that supports bookmarks. Maybe next time I do now have a new "Dictionary" application, though.

hi ive just changed my prod code and got the offer of a .14 upgrade.
simple question will this still work for euro even if we have an apac code.

I'm sorry I don't understand. I think you just answered your own question though. I've changed my product code about 10 times since I got my phone. It was most recently on a European code for the previous v.12 firmware... now it's on one of the above Asian ones so I could install this one.

just installed all seems good on my euro handset contacts name shows in txt and calls etc not+44

fonts are different but i quite like them

if you change fonts to small iam sure itll say message and not be abbrevited i mght be wrong but i think itll work

No, changing the font size to small doesn't make a difference to the abbreviations. Not that it's a problem.

I think the new font actually allows a bit more room. I still can't put my finger on how it's different - only that it seems not to be anti-aliased. This might be to speed the system up and save memory or it might be because this is Asian firmware that uses a different font to the one I'm used to. Nothing wrong with the font though - it's perfectly readable.

So far I have not had the 'missing keypresses' bug with this firmware.

i have noticed the missing key bug has gone as well had installed for a day or 2 and havent had any

however the media key still jubs out and you have to hold twice to enter music player as 1st hold does nothing

Yep, I agree with that. Very annoying really! You have to do *two* long presses on it because if you tap it you get the MM menu of course.

well ive done it and it seems ok, fonts a bit different but brighter, tom tom 6 still works, mm is ok and the mm tap works ok.
