It seems that contacts.cdb is locked by the "phone" application, so you can't copy it because you can't even read it from another application like eFileManager, FExplorer, etc.

PsiLOC+ "System Tools" has the so called "flight profile" that can be used when on a plane, etc. When enabling the "flight profile" you will be asked to remove your SIM card, so maybe in this case the "phone" application is not running and then contacts.cdb can be read

I don't have PsiLOC+ "System Tools": is there somebody who has it that want to try my hypothesis?

In fact I just tried it, using a demo version of System Tools, and I can tell you that... it works!

Yes i really did,and i think there is a warning about this in the readme, saying that flight mode is unstable and some programs might not work.

GREAT... thanks, i will give this a try, i see no need to install pc suite in my pc, the contacts backup is the only thing i will use it for, so if i can do this in another way it's great

And what made you post it in this completely off-topic thread?

If you are asking if you can your SMS then your question has been answered and you should've searched the forum but anyway here it is:You can use an application called Message Saver. The problem is it saves the messages in .txt format.

You can get it here

Back to topic

I found a small app called Smart VCard by SymbianWare that allows you to export your contacts to your PC using, IR, B/T, e-mail etc. You can also Import them back to the phone.

So to backup all your contacts just select all, export to your pc (or whatever). Then if you need to restore you simply Import the file back to the phone.

Have a look here http://www.symbianware.com/product.p...ard60&pl=n7650
