keypress not registering after V12 firmware upgrade

Is it just me or sometimes the keypress is not registering.
I'll be playing around and browsing through the menus, and all of the sudden one of the button did not work. It can be any button.
At first I think it's lag, but after waiting for a little bit, I see nothing happen.
If I press the key again, then it'll work.

Yes same here. From time to time a keypress gets lost!

I have experienced something similar too, but only with the multimedia key. Holding the key should take me to music player, but now I consistently need to do it twice for it to work - holding it once and nothing happens, only the second time will bring up music player. Very odd...

I'm getting it with key presses in the menus, and also from the keypad when typing text messages. Roll on the next firmware release...

I got the this problem here too after the FW upgrade,
if Im typing, whne I need to press "c" I just press the key three times , but it only recognise as two times pressed and shows "b"

I intermittetently have the problem that I have to press and hold the media key twice to get the music player but I only found that out when I tried it after reading your post so that shows how little I use that shortcut.

me too !!!!!!! why is it nokia continually cock up these things......i would have thought that something as simple as button pressing someone should have noticed!

I did a complete format of my phone, memory card and phone and since then I have not noticed this problem, also my phone is more responsive and I have more Ram (prob didnt help filling it with a load of useless apps before I upgraded but hey my phone is now happier)

I'm getting the same infuriating problem. I tried doing a hard reset, and I've tried removing the memory card, just in case that was causing a problem, but it's still doing it.

It's actually so annoying that I've thought about selling the phone!

That said, the battery life is noticeably better, and the GPS is far more usable now. However, not being able to trust the keyboard when texting makes the phone practically unusable for me.

I don't use GPS very often but do use the keyboard 😊 so I shall be holding off v12 until the next upgrade. The minor benefit of slightly improved battery life isn't enough of a carrot for me to go through the hassle of getting all those apps back on my phone (especially those that need a call to the software co to get a new OTA upgrade - thinking of QuickOffice; what is wrong with a simple .sis file??) and then finding the keyboard has a paddy every nth keypress. :icon13:

I'm going to do a total format, reset and reinstall of the firmware. Then only part restore from backup. I'll not restore things like settings and the memory card contents.

Hopefully that'll solve the problem.

Ooh sorry forgot to update.

Well it seems to have solved the problem "mostly". There is still the ocassional miskey but nowhere near as bad. I'd say doing the above process fixed the problem 95%.

EDIT: UPDATE: Problem fixed totally actually. I no longer have the problem.

can you list the steps you did? and when exactly did it completely disappear?
