The problem is, the camera is not as good, and it lacks an FM Radio. If you can get over that, the E70 is a great package with what I consider the best compromise of size, weight, battery life and functionality.

Oh, believe me that the E70 makesa good choice. The keyboard is great to use. I can type around 32-36 words per minute. The camera is very good, the noise inside pictures is almost inexistent and the snap is made real fast, even faster than in N70. The resolution is more than enough for printing on 10x15. Just as a sample, take a look the photo attached.

Yeah but i'd rather use an addon keyboard than a built in keyboard. E90 is impressive. Just want a true N80 replacement.

How on earth is the E90 a replacement for the N80!!! Remember my OP - things that are important to me are same functionality as the N80, size and battery life!!
Just to quantify this:
1) The size must be the same or smaller (although might consider a phone the saze of the N95 if it gave complete functionality).
2) The camera must be same or better.
3) Battery life must be same or better - we all know this one isn't going to be hard to achieve!!
4) Must be able to run my apps listed in OP, especially Saling Clicker and TTN6 - there would be no way that I would pay extra for route mapping AKA N95, also I believe you can't have speed camera POI's on the N95?
So if anyone has any info regarding a TRUE replacement for the N80 I would be most grateful!!

Tried out the N95. Its an excellent phone. Seems so stable and fast!
Only issue i have is the screen. It could be better but it makes better use of the screen than N80. You can use smaller fonts etc and see more on the screen. Phone seems very nice. Might get one.

N80 (the only 80īs series) is real unique... sadly, but N95 is something on side, and not a replacement... only my opinion, and i use both, but for my use N80 screen is away better.

Yeah for web browsing N95 screen is weak. But N80 has a tiny screen which isnt that much better in practice. N95 is also more stable.
Right now i am confused as some software have issues on N95! Any sign of N96?

I think whatever you get make sure it hasn't got a ?@!$% pop port on the bottom.
I think my N80 is great - most of the time when it behaves (unlike today when the screensaver just wouldn't kick in until I powered it off and my battery was draining in a couple of hours), but my second pop port 'device' has half stopped working today - my car speaker charger. The speaker works, the charger has stopped. Add to that my headphone adaptor that came in the box.
I've given up hope of any more f/w updates - I don't fancy the risk of that breaking mid-way through as well :(
Surely a windows mobile phone means you'll have to pay for TT again as it's a different platform. Or am I the only one out there who pays for stuff?!
By the time my 18 month contract ends, the mythical N81 or N82 may be out, I'm starting to think about abandoning my N80 then, assuming all my apps will move across for nowt...

The thing with me is also that I am currently on quite an expensive contract and I have been given the option to buy out of the contract as long as I upgrade and get a new one.... so need to find a suitable replacement sooner rather than later....

maybe you should just wait...
theres a leaked/hoax website at the moment, that looks like its an N95 keyboard, but 8GB phone... like rumoured N81.....
the webbo is http://www.070829.com/ which make a date of 2007 August 29th.
Rumour is a new model will be announced... as I mentioned that the nokia woman hinted to me... it would be a good improvement on the N80...

Is it just me or is the website just doing an impression of what would happen if I gave my 14 month old my phone and a very large hammer..?
