Re: rng ringtone sending via sms
Epocware are due to release an addin that will allow you, in conjunction with HandyFile place ringtones direct onto your phone.
Or thats what they told me when I emailed em!

sending ringtones via sms was prohibited due to copyright issues. the last phone created by nokia that can send ringtones was the 3310 after which, adding the feature was stopped. you can send tones via IR via seleQ.

On Windows machines, you should be able to right click on a file and use Send To > Infrared Recipient
As long as you have connected via IR.
Files appear in your message inbox.

Making an app that can allow this (sending ringtones via SMS) would be illegal, right?

Send Ringtones
Well, I have tried sending Midi files from my phone to PC (through IR) and to SE phones via the FE Explorer, however you can't send normal ringtones (.rng) to other phones through IR and also tried sending it through MMS, but no luck. :( :-?

@ Ghostdog
Yes that's right cos Nokia got that problem about the ringtone copyright issue so they disabled all send ringtone option (if u receive one) but if u compose it yourself u still can send it to others
@ Machtoners
errr.. did u mean u send the .RNG tone to Nokia phones or other brands ??
if it's Nokia's phones i think the phone type must be DCT-3 well this is the case if i'm sending .RNG files from my 9210i, if i send it to phones like 7210, 6610, etc it says file not supported like that
but if i send it to 8310 and below since it's DCT-3 it works

matt69,the topic is:sending ringtones via SMS,so that is not exactly helpful ops: ,you can send any type of file via BlueTooth, you only need a file manager.
