I can see from you screen captures that you've been using af Mac. I've tried the exact same settings in Quicktime Pro 6.0 on my PC and it dosen't work. It says "unable to play". However just before the error message I get to see a short "blink" with the actual movie which is a whole lot closer than my earlier results. Anyway I cannot get it to work with your setting on my pc! :( Any suggestions anyone?

Unfortunatly qTime reduces the screen size even more. With such a small screen it is not very neat to scale to even smaller than the full width of the screen.

I've posted some more samples on

switch

don't hesitate to make the switch. Macs are really the best. Although iSync (you've probably heard of it, its an aplication to sync with your palm, ipod, t300, t68...) does not work yet for the p800. Thats a real bummer. Still, macs rule, especially since OS X arrived

isn't iSync using SyncML? and the P800 should have SyncML support built in, on the other hand the 7650 should have SyncML built in too but the only SyncML support it has is thru the Nokia RemoteSync application :/

Quicktime & Macs etc.

Firstly, conversions from existing MPEG files to MP4 will lose their audio tracks due to video & audio being 'muxed' - i.e. combined in one stream rather than discreet tracks - but there are programs available to 'de-mux' files, so one of these could be used first to turn the file into a standard Quicktime track, and then re-encode as mp4. I have these as Mac programs (such as BBDEMUX), but I don't know the names of equivalent PC programs. I suppose a google search for "demux" would bring up something.

Secondly, yes Macs are great, particularly with Bluetooth support. I've been reading the reports of people having all sorts of unpredictable results with BT file transfers. These are all quite smooth with OS X, and in fact, as SE only write software for PCs, there's no other way to transfer files to the P800.
As there are some pretty cool programs available on the platform for SE T68s I'm hopeful that there'll be something soon to enable use of the docking station, 'cos right now it's just a charger for me...
So make the switch Possan, you won't regret it.

BTW: I didn't invent the term 'Muxed", and yes, I do think it's wierd...

Quicktime settings

I've just had another look at those above, and noticed their using the default settings for size. It is actually possible to resize the image by scaling the window and using "current" as the size of the image in the export settings - just make sure it's scaled to something smaller than the size that the player accepts. If it's too big, it says so and won't play.
If the file starts, but then errors, as described by guest, I've found that this is due to the player being incredibly picky about sound encoding. A simple test is to take the original of the file that fails and re-encode without the audio track - this has worked every time for me so far - and then re-try with lower quality settings for audio until it works. It took me about 3 hours of testing on the night I got the P800 to get this right.
Unfortunately, all the settings are stored on my TiBook and I'm on my desktop at the mo', but if anyone's really interested I can post them here later. From what I've seen, I thought everyone here was using a PC program to encode, and the settings were all locked down for that. 8)
