A bit offtopic, but this came out today:

http://www.unwiredview.com/2007/06/0...sony-ericsson/

At same time, Eldar from mobile-review, said in the z8 (p)review both motorola and SE are preparing gaming platforms similar to ngage platform...of course, in SE case, we can count with something linked to the Playstation network/brand...and i think we will hear about it soon

"both motorola and SE are preparing gaming platforms similar to ngage platform"

What would be interesting, and indeed might well be logical, is if they put it on the UIQ platform.

You'd then have two major gaming platforms based on Symbian, which would make life much easier for developers who wanted to provide games for both platforms.

Just remembered, last year AAS revealed that Nokia appeared to be in negotiations with (amongst others) Sony to provide games for the new S60 platform.

Just as Nokia and Sony Ericsson co-operate on developing Symbian for their own smartphone platforms, perhaps they might co-operate on developing games for their own gaming platforms.

Every time I see a P1i I am impressed with the speed of the UI - can this really be using the same hardware as the P990 (except the RAM)?

Unhappy Thumb workout

I'm less impressed with the stretch from jogwheel to softkeys that takes place in the video, and with trying to use those small icons at the top of the screen (admittedly fitts law applies somewhat - you only have to move left/right as you're at the screen edge). A joystick would have solved all the issues there...
