N73 and memory card 4GB

2 GB I think I the Max ... could be wrong

N80 already support FAT32 file system. But, as far as I know, not N73, yet... So no 4Gb cards supported.

Yes... I try the same test, do a FAT32 format, but the phone does not accept the card:frown:

The N73 does not support 4Gb cards yet.

Maybe they'll release a firmware udpate in the future, only way is to ask for it at nokia. If there are enough requests maybe they'll act on it.

For now we have to settle with 2Gb.

Apparently, if you upgrade your N73 to firmware version V 4.0723.2.0.1 you can then use a 4GB mini sd - i hope so, coz i've just ordered a 4GB card from Ebay - i'll keep you posted :P

Hi pcast, yes, my phone has the option to support the French language...after all the firmware is an EMEA 02 version, EMEA means Europe, the Middle East, Africa.

So, go ahead and upgrade your firmware but it pays to do your research first as i found out and had to flash my phone again, the first time round it came up in Chinese, with only English and Chinese to choose from in languages.
I am still waiting for my 4GB MiniSD, when i get it i shall report, i have read it works without a problem, we shall see, watch this space [ ] <----

But my problem is the product code, because I already flashing my N73 and I do not remember any more the product code which was not the same one as that under the battery. Is it possible to know the product code directly on the telephone, like *#0000# or other manip. ?

Hi PCast - i used product code 0529602, this is a EMEA 02 product code....
try it, see what happens 😊

i own a music edition n73 v3.0638.0.0.30 30\10\2006 rm133

i also own a 4gb memory card bought from ebay seller fastmemoryman it stated in the auction it would be compatible with any device that can handle 2gb so i bought one

it works very well indeed its now nearly full up with music dvds tomtom6 etc etc

1st do not buy a sdhc memory card these are for newer devices try and find the normal mini sd card not the sdhc if in doubt ask 1st

when you get it put it in a card reader and format it into the fat format i only done a quick format and it worked ok

next put the sd card in the phone you should get a little beep allthough mine didn the 1st time
i could tell the phone was trying to read it as it went mega slow i beared through this and several crashes mainly when i opend summin that needed the memory card ie music player etc this only lasted 5-10 mins maybe i should have just waited a few minutes before trying to open file manager to see if it was registering 😊
after these inital glitghy 1st few minutes and several reboots it worked fine

please note i had to remove the memory card once or twice as well but as i say once it picked it up it works a treat

when putting it in your phone for 1st time dont have loads of stuff on it as this may jub your phone out even more just format it into fat then leave it blank and have a little play with it and your phone

i run tomtom 6 of it fine and have over 2gb of music etc on there 😊

i also noticed when i 1st dun summin after 1st putting the sd card in ie opening the camera it would take 10-15 secs but after the 1st time it was smooth

basically bear with it and let your phone read it its a very big card and they were only designed for 2gb max

i believe ive come to the conclusion that it isnt the firmware that is the issue here i believe it is the type of memory card people have been using

for a long time sdhc have been avalible and id say 90 percent of the ones on ebay are sdhc which the n73 wont read look for a 4gb normal sd card the format it into the fat format via your computer or maybe even n73 if it will let you

IAM LOVING THIS 4GB AT THE MOMENT ITS PUT ME OFF GETTING THE N95 DUE TO THE 2GB LIMITATION 😊 I LOVE MEMORY NOKIA SHOULD BE WORKING ON PHONES BEING ABLE TO TAKE AS MUCH AS THE OWNER CAN AFFORD TO STICK IN 😊

i think hes based in america but he has a depot in uk birmingham he got me mine to the uk in for days so must have a depot in uk 😊

good service 2 he even does insurance for an extra 1pound 😊

Mobymemory are listing 4gig (SD) cards as compatible with a range of Nokia N series devices, but exlude the N73.

Information on that site (Mobymemory) is reliable, isn't it? Is that true that Panasonic VS7 and MX7 support external memory card as MiniSD? I am the owner of VS2 and VS6 and almost get VS7. Those phone line does not support any external memory card and internal mamory is about 32MB. Or are there any changes that someone or Panasonic has made some modifications in any part of the world?. 😮

Well I think this seller is a bit of a conman. I received my 4gb miniSD card today and it does not work. It was Item number: 270150329553 on Ebay and he assured me it was non SDHC. It took a week to come and when it did the postage was $0.90 which is about 45p. However he charged &#163;8 for postage. Ridiculous. I have tried the card in several readers with and without the adaptor and also in my N73 (also a Music Edition on latest firmware) and it does not recognise the card. The surface of it is slightly scratched too despite it coming in a plastic box.

If you check his ratings every so often there are negative ones. About 253 at the last count. Considering he has 164605 ratings it doesnt sound too bad but ideally you have to question why does he have them at all.

So no it was not a good service and so far he has not replied to emails so if I dont get satisfaction I`ll have to open a dispute.

Buyer beware !

yep hes not the best seller in the world but hes the only person that ive come acros with 4gb mini sd card that works in my n73 😊

has anyone had anymore luck with N73 and 4gb cards? Im going to bite the bullet and buy one soon!

It does not work for sure! I try... without any luck!

i guess its going to have to be a 2gig card then. I dont really have the money to spend if the 4gig isnt going to work or will cause the phone to become slow :frown:
