With some of my contacts an incoming call with a Caller ID does not display the caller name, although they are in my Contact List and the number is in a valid format.
I have Firmware 10.0.0.18
Any ideas?

maybe is a probblem in your area network
This problem hapen with other phones?
No, the CLID shows a valid no. but sometimes (for certain contacts) does not match it to a contact - sometimes it does show the contact name.
This is a very strange problem...
Hi,
pls make sure that you dont have the same number attached to two different contact name...
For example , if +44 999888777 is attached to both John_home and larry_home and you get a call from the above number, it will display only the number and not the name. If you just have a one to one mapping of phone number to the contact name, the name will show up during the call....
Hope this helps...

check if the contacts not showing the callers name are in your contacts list with the same phone number but different names more than once. fix this and then it should work.
HTH
EDIT: ups... Vince was faster than I was... 😊
I am having the same problem - the name of the caller is not shown, just the phone number number.
And it is not for all contacts, just some of them.
I checked - no other contacts have this number listed anywhere.
I tried everything: deleting the contact and re-creating it. Changing the number to international format, then local format, with area code and without.
It just would not show it as name or nickname!
Anyone else is having this problem?
Firmware is the latest: 11.0.026
I was having the same problem but as a couple of others pointed out it was because I had duplicate contact entries from synching with my computer and bulk copying from the sim directory. Once I got rid of the duplicates my "id-ing" worked fine.:icon14:
Yep you guys were right. After tedious double-checking all the contacts again the problem was fixed.
I had the same phone number listed twice under one of those additional fields. I imported the contacts from Outlook like in the previous post.
If only I knew how to change the format of the phone numbers stored in Outlook contacts (it tries to put area codes everywhere). But I hear it is not possible...
Or you could always use the 'my content' section in the search
the problem i am having with my n95 is that each time i get an incoming call it simply comes up with 'call' - it gives no contact name or number, just 'call'. Thus I have no idea who on earth is ringing me. I have up to date firmware, i have selected 'say callers name' in the general profile and then activated that profile ... everything else seems to be working (ringtone, message alert, etc) but i just have no idea who is calling me ...
Anyone have any ideas?
oh, and i dont have any duplicate numbers or anything like that ... all my contacts were inputted via the nokia software on my PC
well beat this one .. i had a name showing up when i dialled out ... hung up .. redialed now that name doesnt show up again just the number .. without editing anything !!!!!!
Same problem - CALL LOG saves number only, no name. Cheap Sony Ericsson phone saves all name+number but this N95-4 doesn't.Any solution?
