How to find truphone password to use with fring
Here is how to find your Truphone password so that you can use truphone with fring and other sip clients )))))))
Thanks to the original poster of this info
I used Y-Browser to search the C: drive of my N95 for *.set (since I read that there are 2 install files for truphone - TruWiz.sisx (the Wizard) and truphone.set (settings file)) and found it in C:\System\dmgr\10008d39\contents. I transferred it to my laptop via bluetooth and opened it in notepad and found my User Name (you can see this on your N95 by going to Tools->Settings->Connection->Sip Settings->(choose any TruPhone profile (Home, office or travel)->Proxy Server). When you find your user name in the txt file look to the right of it and find a 10 character (in my case it was 10 characters, yours might be different? that was a 9 characters and 1 number on the end) string, to the right of that you should see truphone.com.
This 10 character string is the password I used for entering into SIP settings in Fring and it worked! For the proxy server I used truphone.com
So again, the user name is the same that you find in your phone, not your registration user name and password is that found from truphone.set
You dont neet to find the .set from your phone, just download it from truphone to your computer and open it with notepad.
I just made a call with fring and it worked and sounded perfect, will now try to use with xlite which means I will no longer need to have my mobile connected to my wifi when I am at home or in the office now so will help with my battery life ..
Have fun )))))))))

Still checking in here, but have had little to offer to any of the threads of late, I thought this info about truphone would be of use so posted ... but I am always here and will always add my input if I think its of use )))...
Glad to hear your missing me though
Not got my N95 yet and hence not been on the N95 forum, at the moment it would be an indulgence that I don't really need, but will definitely get one sometime in the future..If I was living in the UK then would prob get one now because of the GPS and SATNAV, but here in the sticks of Lithuania GPS is not really needed...

no... havent tried it... not using truphone ...
I get free calls on mobile anyway thru work, and then free calls at home thru BT so I dont really need any more service providers than sipgate/skype/sky/vodafone

Yea ...this is disgusting by the operators, I actually think its illegal as far as free trade is concerned .. you can compare I think to a monopoly .. I hope people will move away from operators that are doing this sort of thing...eventually the little guy will win ...If I was in UK I would def join in with a class action lawsuit against the operators as they are restricting the use of a product that they sell with features that they advertise (maybe not VOIP), but wifi which could be considered to include VOIP
The operators should move with the times and consider a solution for whatever the market throws at them,
