On Nokia HK's website, MSN Messenger is available to download for free for the Nseries phones:
http://www.nokia.com.hk/nokia/0,,98969,00.html - 5th one down.
That page is for the N73, but the program works all the same - I've been using it on my N95 for over a week now!
Hope that helps.
Thanks, I'll give it a try.
Ok I've installed it but how do I run it? Theres no icon in the applications menu? Am I missing something?
Thanks
There should be an icon - check the bottom of the Applications Folder
It deffinently not there, I've installed other things which have appeard there. I'll try reinstalling.
I have found that alot of the S60 3rd Ed stuff wont install, keep getting the error "Installation of ****** Not Supported".
Shouldn't all S60 3rd ed apps work with the N95?
Found it !
The install creates a new folder, called internet - like on the N73/N80 etc ..
Shortcut is in there .. you can then move to whereever you like 😊
Cool, thanks! Don't know why I didn't see that earlier!
I take I just start it, then leave it running in the background to pickup messages? (I've never used MSN on a phone before!)
yep thats about it (used it on my 9500) only thing to remember is thats its always 'online' so if your using 3G/GPRS might start to cost .. better to use Wi-Fi 😉
Not a problem for me, Orange have just given me a whole year unlimited date usage free, so I want to make the most of it!
Thanks so much for your help everyone!
thanks from me also, works nicely 😊
much better than using eMSN in java
Hi installed messenger on my N95 and it worked fine for a couple of weeks. Now, however, when I try to log on it says the service is not available outside Hong Kong, China or Taiwan... Any ideas?

YES on mine MSN nimm is the same! I noticed today!
Mine says the same, I only used it for one day 😞 someone help please... Might try re-installing it but I can bet the same error appears sooner or later...

Its blocked server side, it seems MSN china has caught on and blocked anyone outside china, taiwan or hong kong from using this version. Youll have to get software like QuickIM if you want to use MSN now.
That stinks... Why not just allow it for anyone seeing as though it's freeware... or just bring out one for England, can't be too difficult. Dang.
Damn 😞, was good too.
Yep, I only used it once but it was perfect, really fast and nice and simple
damn thats annoying, it was perfect for passing the time at work
Oh I was a bit lucky, went back to Agile Messenger instead due to this, and downloaded their client for N95, and vooopah, the fully functioning and paid for version appeared.
Realised that its my same SIM card still from when I bought it AGES ago and it obviously saves the details on the SIM.
And this Agile Messenger for N95 is much better than the free one from hk.
Recommended.

is it free?
if it's not, any other comes in free?
go to your n95 web browser, go to web address:
go to
MSN Live messenger beta
log in. thats all.
Note: this is an online version of MSN live messenger that works fine from the web browser itself. 😎
I can recommend UltraIM (available as a trial from http://handango.co.uk)

I just installed Fring www.fring.com. It supports Skype and MSN. Tried Skype and it works, but have not tried MSN. It is free and uses your existing account.

How much does it cost, I don't mind spending on it, providing it's not too much & worth it 😊
I've just installed Fring on my N95 (Vodafone UK) and the Skype works perfectly. Its very easy to set up. I don't use MSN so I can't comment on that though.
