Nokia Video Manager - copy and transcode videos
Nokia has released Nokia Video Manager for Windows PC. The software helps you copy videos to your phone and transcodes them on the fly (converts them to an optimal format). Nokia Video Manager supports conversion from avi, mpeg, wmv and mov (DivX, XVid, MPEG-2 and Quicktime codecs) to mp4 (H.264). As such it is only compatible with devices that can play back the H.264 format.

I have to say, this is a class act from Nokia. Greatly simplifies things and i don't need to jump between M3 and Super for my video conversion needs. I really was wondering when they would release an update for the very dated Nokia Media Converter.
Good job.

Yeah I'm impressed too. You will get better result if you tinker yourself, but this does a good job and the integration with the phone / PC suite is nice as it makes getting the video on to the phone dead simple.

I don't see N73 as being compatible. All my videos come out in the phone as audio only.

I haven't tried it out on an N73. As mentioned you do need support for H.264 which I am fairly sure the N73 did not have at launch.
However Forum Nokia tables suggest it does now, so a firmware update might help.

The Nokia Tables indeed say that N73 has H.264, however I have the latest FW for MusicEdition (which is the latest of all N73 versions, V 3.0705.1.0.31) and still nothing. Maybe only vanilla N73 FW has support for H.264 ? Can anyone that uses vanilla FW N73 could test that?
All I get in mine is the sound of the video.

I tried it on E61 and RealPlayer only played the audion, not the video of the mp4 clip.

I'm on generic N73 firmware (3.0704.1.0.1) and I'm getting audio only too.
When I try to play a converted video in Realplayer it first gives an "unable to play clip" message then says "attempting to play each separately", then just plays the audio.

I converted 2 files. The third ... and every subsequent attempt to convert result in a progress bar that never progresses, and no video conversion. Reboots etc made no different.
As with other comments, my E62 plays Audio, but no video.

Totally agree. Thank goodness they have done so.

N73 has H.264. Just guessing: some parameters (bitrate, FPS etc.) might be optimized for the officially compatible products and thus RealPlayer gives the error message. The message is always the same regardless of the actual error (missing codec, wrong parameters, ..)

On my N95, Super seems to produce a lot better video quality (I set it to 320x240 25fps 500kbps video), as Nokia Video Manager only has 3 settings, low/medium/high quality. And high quality was only 15fps and low resolution.
Although I did not have my N95 connected to the PC at the time, so I don't know if it automatically adjusts when it detects different phones.

Problems
My conversions to My Collection folder always fail and I get a "An unknown error occurred. Check log file for more information." message.
Any help?
