British Spring: N95 Photos and Videos

Steve's been taking advantage of some early British spring sunshine to capture some photos and videos with the N95. Macro mode is impressive and landscape shots have lost the worst of their rose tint compared to the prototype models. There's also an example of a video shot, edited and uploaded all from the N95 (no PC required).

Read on in the full article.

Looking good...

Those pictures look pretty good, bar the tint. It would be very easy to put those in photoshop and correct them, though you really shouldn't have to. Video is not too shabby either.

Looking forward to a comprehensive review - I'd like to see lots on it's media functions such as playing videos - codecs it supports etc or media player software that will be available such as smartmovie - one of my main uses for the phone apart from WiFi and GPS will be playing films.

I've been told they will begin shipping early April from where I pre-ordered.

"Those pictures look pretty good, bar the tint."

I HONESTLY can't see this tint that people keep talking about. None of them look discoloured at all to my eyes.

Ok here is my attempt at a caption.

" I thought I organized a meeting with the Symbian President, not the Simian President!!!"

Sorry

The photos still Blue and Red For that price, at least a fair camera, is not demand too much. N95 doesn´t impress me to much. Maybe is just me

Nice results, but i noticed the lag in voice sync with the video. Is that due to the "on phone" editing process?

Caption:.... Steve, you see what happens when you skip shaving for a week just to review the N95.

Observations...

Some nice choices of subject-matter for those pics.... both of you. Still seems to me that the camera can only best be classed as 'good snapshot quality'. The 5 mega-pixel label seems to be primarily advertising flim-flam and won't be a true representation of what 5 mp means to most people until ccd, as opposed to cmos is used. Presently it doesn't even come close to the quality obtainable from my old, mere 2.1 mp Canon Ixus.

Good to see that Rafe isn't allowing the testing of the N95 to interrupt his regular therapy sessions though!

Video and sound better than other non-Nokia Smartphones I have used. Great - scheduled now for replacing my wife's K800i

The trouble is that so much has already been said about the N95. The game plan is to do a series of AAS review features, looking at specific aspects of its functionality. In parallel, I'm doing an N95 Special Review for the Smartphone Show. This should be up by mid week. Then in a week or two, there will be a textual AAS review, summing up how well or badly it has performed in real life.

Steve
