N91 and Pioneer CD-BTB100 pairing

Wondering if anyone in he forum can help me on this. I have tried Pioneer and Nokia support contacts but have not found a solution. I need help with my N91 and Pioneer's BTB100 Bluetooth Adapter.

N91 supports:
Bluetooth wireless technology v.1.2: send and receive images, video clips, graphics, and business cards via Bluetooth wireless technology (Profiles: Basic Printing Profile, Generic Access Profile, Serial Port Profile, Dial-up Networking Profile, Headset Profile, Handsfree Profile, Generic Object Exchange Profile, Object Push Profile, File Transfer Profile, Basic Imaging Profile, and SIM Access profile.

BTB100 supports:
GAP (Generic Access Profile)
SDP (Service Discovery Protocol)
HSP (Head Set Profile)
HFP (Hands Free Profile)
A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile)
AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile)
OPP (Object Push Profile)

Even then when I pair the two devices the BTB pairing shows up as a "headset" icon on the phone's LCD and full integration between the the two devices does not take place. For instance the phone's signal strength and battery monitor does not show up on the Pioneer's headunit (AVH-P6800DVD).

I presume that the pairing is actually happening thru the HSP rather than the HFP.
