Just updated my phone and I am happy to report at first use is a lot more snappy, lots of annoying bugs seem to be gone (eg the bluetooth connection searching when removing from the sync cradle).

Only time will tell as far as stability goes .... but then it couldnt be much worse eh

Phone R9EA001
BT R5A01
ORG R4A13
CDA R4A09

Smile going well after 2 days

mine is going well 2 days after the upgrade

hasn't frozen yet on making/receiving calls!

not seen white screen yet on open/close flip

had one restart that the phone did to "improve performance" ... but at least it did it and I didn't have to pull the batery ;-)

and even had my first instance where I actually powered down the phone & restarted vs it freeze/white screen

Cannot update to new firmware

Update Service says I have already the latest firmware, while this is surely not the case.
What can be the reason?

Wink

I have an Orange UK P990i and presume I'll have to wait until the correct update for my locked phone is sorted.
Mind you, despite the certain limitations in functionality placed by Orange, I have found (ncluding no internet hardware button) that my phone has been relatively stable.
I look forward to one day running SEUS and being able to update, after pressing C and waiting as even getting to the "already the latest firmware" message.
Isn't placing the phone on the cradle fiddly though? I haven't yet mastered it.

The update is not available for all country versions yet and not available for any branded phones

Major issue indeed

How does one know if there is a firmware upgrade for your device?

Running every week the update routine is too much of a hassle for getting most of the time at the end of the process the message "Device has already the latest firmware."

Nokia has a service where you can ask if there is one available. Has Sony Ericsson a similar service/link?

Geepers, not allowed to post links so lets do it the hard way. sub fullstops for the spaces.

http: //uiq3 sourceforge net/wiki/index.php/CDA/P990i

you would do better if you change your CDA to a world generic version...then you wouldnt have to wait

CDA Version

my phone shows the following

Phone Version - CXC162037 R9EC001
Bluetooth Ver - CXC162058 R5A01
Organizer Ver - CXC162036 R4B03

however it shows - CDA162008/6 R5A03

The phone works with any sim but when I did the last update it said it was O2. I have noticed that I have no internet wizard option ??? do you think this is due to it having O2 software ?

Also looking at the link that 'c210' posted my CDA version isnt there
