Ive got a 2gb card works a treat no problems, as for a 4gb never tried one ..not sure if the n80 will accept a 4 gb card as reading on the nokia site the n95 will only take 2gb max. Not sure what the n80 will go up to

Search on Mobymemory site, because they test the cards before sell. For now, the 4Gb miniSD are not compatible with S60v3 phones.

This has been discussed before, and as far as I'm aware the situation hasn't changed..
1. 4gb miniSD is still in the earliest stages of development. The cards have been released to hardware manufacturers to help with compatibility testing.
2. 4gb miniSDs are not yet available to consumers to buy
3. The 4gb miniSDs sold on eBay are faked / achieved through software compression that will not stand the test of time.
4. 4gb miniSDs are expected to require a firmware update for the N80.

Stick with branded 2gb miniSDs from reputable sellers for now. Ignore the 4gb miniSDs until you can find them on a manufacturer's site eg Sandisk

Thanks for the info...I never knew the 4gb mini sd`s where fake.....nearly bought one ....Ive been using a PEAK 2GB mini sd card from www.microdirect.co.uk 5 year warranty which I bought new for £24.95 and in the 4 months of having my N80 have had no problems with it, have installed and uninstalled lots of apps pics without a hicup!

No probs. We're all keen for the extra storage, unfortunately some people seek to take advantage - I've reported a number of eBay sellers offering "4gb miniSDs" but no action's been taken as yet.

I'm sure it'll be shouted from the rooftops, both here and on other Symbian sites, when 4gb or more becomes a reality..

I'm not so sure about that; check this out. It's from a very very reputed french web vendor :

http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Photo-Vi...scend-4-Go.htm

It says SDHD but it looks pretty much like a MiniSD... Any differences?

Yeah - I bought a cheapo 2gb card, and it was sooo rubbish that I sent it back for a branded one - the cheapo one wouldn't fit in nicely!

my uncle bought a really, really cheap fake "sandisk" branded 2gb miniSD from Hong Kong for his E61,I was playing around with it,and it would crash like every 10mins,cos i was trying to access the mem card (to install a game for him) via the default file manager and YBrower, when i removed the mem card from the phones, the phone did not crash at all! So the simple rule is to pay there extra get a quality mem card...

SDHD Mini SD is NOT compatible with the N80.. Its the "new" version of the SD card and is not backward compatible. Its the high density version of the chip and they had to change it and address it differently to allow for that sort of capacity.

Just hope the N95 is compatible with this new format so we can get higher capacity cards in it. I want my Wikipedia on the phone!

I think that one needs the even smaller transflash size. ...

I really wish they could stick to one size - even if there are enhancements (i.e. faster for newer, bigger etc...) but the fact that the 6630, the N80 and the N95 all seem to have different sizes is a real step backwards. ... A single standard would make a lot of sense to everyone bar the people who manufacture the memory cards!
