Sky Mobile TV on N73
Just wondered if there is anyway of getting the mobile TV available on the N73.
I have contacted Orange (my provider) and they have advised that the mobile TV is not yet available on the N73, but they also said the same about the Remote Record, but managed to find a Java app that lets it run.
They did say that some other handsets might be supported in a few weeks time, but could not confirm what they would be.

That's strange as Orange offered me free Sky Sports news for two months when I signed up with them last month !
Sky By Mobile is now called Sky Anytime and they are having some teething issues. I'm currently using the Sony Ericsson app for Sky+ Remote Record. I'm sure everything will be ok soon

I have managed to get the Remote Record feature using, as you say, using the Sony Ericcson app, and that is working real well.
But, how do you get the mobile tv, as Orange did say that it will not work on the N73.
Lovesign .... do you actually have the mobile TV working on the N73?

Yes, but only as part of the Orange TV option on their mobile website.

So ... let me just clarify, in case I am being a bit thick.
If I have installed the Java Sony Erricson App for Remote Record, then using this application I am able to receive the Mobile TV, as long as I have signed up for the Mobile TV package.
When you contact Orange / Sky, what mobile did you say you had, as when I said N73, they said no way.

They contacted me and asked me which package I'd like free for the first two months.
After that, I don't know. I was with Vodafone before on my 6680 and could watch anything I liked on there. I haven't really investigated what can be done on Orange yet.

Well, after a long while having to use a Sony (pah) Java application to utilise Sky's Remote Record features, they have at last seen fit to release a native Symbian 3rd Edition version.
Type the following URL into your phone's web browser and download the app, which will automatically install.
http://mobile.sky.com/skyapp/skyapp.asp
The page will auto detect your phone and install the correct version.
My personal opinion of this application is that it is a vast improvement over the Java version and better than the old S60 2nd Edition that I used to use on my 6680.
It took a while to get there, but here it is
All the best,
Rob.
