Has the IE Edition fixed the Wlan problems?

Since i upgraded from v3 to v4, i could never use my wireless router to connect to the internet on my N80, pretty much rendering it almost useless as thats what i wanted it for.

Now im sure i saw Cash had wrote somewhere that this was happening to alot of people, ive now upgraded to the IE edition and am still having trouble!

I have the security now set to None on my router and still no joy. Is this a problem for anyone else?

I've never noticed a problem with the wifi. It is, however, REALLY vulnerable to interference from your hand if you hold the phone with your palm over where the antenna is.

I have seen HUGE differences in the phone being able to detect/connect to wifi networks, all depending on how I hold it/if I am covering the antenna with my hand.

The wifi antenna is basically under the camera button, and the phone is most receptive from the right hand side/back-right, around this area. Therefore when trying to connect to wifi, don't hold it with your hand over the camera button, try holding it left handed, or put it on a table, with the right hand side of the phone pointing towards where the router is.

Don't know if this is relevant to you, but I think everyone should bear this in mind!

yeah i completely agree, whenever im trying to get a good signal for my phone or a wifi signal i hold my phone up with my 2 fingers at each side of the bottom of the phone. this is essential knowledge with an N80!

I found my problem was something to do with my router, I upgraded the firmware in my wifi router, reset and it works fine, although occasionally I still have to reset my router because the problem seems to come back...I am also in the habit now of turning my phone on and off a couple of times a week ...

i think my problem maybe router based too. just updated it and am gonna reset it now.

It's a Safecom ADSL/ADSL2 4port 10/100 ethernet + 54mb Wireless and its becoming really unreliable lately i must admit!

dont forget you have to email support at truphone to get your account, just give them your name and ask for an account, then you can download the E60 sis file..
