Orange auto connect data on turn on

It appears the N73 automatically connects to orange data services when its switched on. It disconnects when I hold the call end key.

Why does it connect automatically ? Is this costing me data charges? How can I stop this ?

Thanks in advance
Rory

I'm an Orange user too but not completely sure I understand your question. I think what you need to do is:

Open the main menu - go to "Settings" - scroll down to "Connection" - select "Packet data" - change "Packet data conn." to "When needed".

Hope that helps?
Cheers
Martin

I've got this problem too, and that doesn't solve it. It connects still as soon as the phone starts up. Any Ideas?

I never had this problem, but then within 24 hours of getting my Orange branded N73, I had upgraded it to the ME version.

Martin F's advice would've been my suggestion too.
