mRouter shows no com ports :(

As per title really.
I've managed to get the 7650 and the pc to speak to each other via my TDK USB bluetooth, I can send images back and forth all day long.
However I can't connect to pcsuite because when I open up mRouter there is only Infrared. There are no ther com ports availbe for the phone to connect to the pc with.

I'm using;
win2000 SP3
TDK USB BT with the 1.3 version of the driver.

Any help appreciated, oh and I have used the search facility, but the only relevent thread I could find had no replies :(

Looks like your virtual com ports have'nt been configured on ur system. For starters u can try a fresh install of BT software. Dont forget to clean the reg before reinstalling.

Did you get the problem sorted? the Bluetooth on 7650 is such a lovely toy, I would hate anyone not to make use of it!

Cheers for the replies.
I'll try what sanjay said 'cause it could see the comm ports before, but I uninstalled and then reinstalled the software, but I never cleaned the registry afterwards, that's when the problems started.

Thanks again.

Tried deleting all software and cleaning the registry.

I had high hopes, but no luck :(

Anyone know how I can contact nokia. Their website, with all it's flahiness and razzamatas doesn't seam to allow people to contact them. (this thicky :-) can't find an e-mail address, help!!!)

This seems like a problem for more than than just myself, so I believe I should get in touch with them and make them sort it.

PS I wanna get that winamp remote for my phone.
I'm too lazy to move 5 feet :-D

Sorry about that. That is really surprising.

Anyways, you can try force adding a couple of com ports. BT Neighbourhood>Device Configuration>Client Application>Add Com port. Then run pc suit and see if u have new ports available now.

If u still dont happen to find the ports in mRouter, try a fresh clean install of Both BT and PC Suit. I'm sorry. i should have mentioned in my erlier post to uninstall PC suit as well, along with BT software, and use reg clean (PC suit remembered the changed data location and stuff even after reinstalling, hence reg clean).
I know it really is a time consuming process but give it a go. Its any day better then getting any response from Nokia.

I'm a fellow-sufferer of this problem and have tried lots of things and am still trying !!

Anyway - re Nokia: "Club Nokia" - which you get from the main Nokia site - has a support link that allows you to email problems.

I have used it on three occasions now, trying to find answers to the PCSuite issue.

The first time, they simply did not respond.

The second time, they wrote back - ONE line only - "we are not aware of this problem" (neither was I till I bought the damn phone!!!)

The third time they told me to contact my nearest authorised dealer and supplied some contacts: besides me giving all my details re computer and where I lived, the contacts they gave me were in a completely different country to where I live: separated by a notoriously choppy sea no less!!!

So there you go - contact Nokia and tell them your problems but don't expect much support

you need the OLD version of mrouterserial.dll which came in the original version of PC suite - I had exactly the same problem - everything installs and says is working but no bluetooth com ports show up when you run mrouter right?

Just replace that .dll and all will be fine - I posted it up here a while back - do a search for it

EDIT: Here is the one off my machine..
You will need to close the processes (2 of them I think can't remember their names) in your task manager then replace your current file with this one - then reboot.

Best

Will

blue tooth not working

I had a similar problem, mrouter was saying there was only a IR-port which did not exist, try this...

1) Have you recently upgraded to broadband? (i know your wondering where i'm going with this) if yes...

2) is your old dial up modem still in your PC? (dont worry i'm not mad!)

If it is, disable your old Modem (or remove it) in your hadware profiles, reboot your PC, now see if Mrouter picks up the bluetooth com ports.

Seriously it worked for me!

jamsie.

My own particular problem with PCSuite isn't whether ports show up or not - it seems to be one that only I have: I can connect my phone to PC using either a IR port or a BT. MRouter in my systray shows activity and turns blue/yellow (...whatever). Looking at MRouter properties it says I'm connected. Now! I go to launc PCSuite and it says I have to connect my phone.... in the Bottom right of the PCSuite window it says its disconnected while, simultaneously, in systray it says I'm connected!

What do ye make of that ?
