I did a FOTA Update last night!
It said there was an update, I was previously on the Euro 1 update of v4 which ends in .41, the update has taken me to .42 and it didn't delete any phonebook entries or messages etc, well pleased

I haven't noticed any changes really but it's just nice to see the FOTA working properly, and the fact it doesn't delete an user data is a nice bonus

Use the Device Manager function in the Connections menu to check for upgrades - best to use over a wifi connection for speed & cost issues

In my device manager, there are no servers defined.
Do you know if FOTA is supported by Vodafone UK?
And if so, what server settings do I need to use?
Cheers

In my Device Manager I have a (no server profiles defined) message in the main profiles tab, however I have a Default Profile of "Nokia" under the Settings Menu option within Device Manager itself. Is this not the case for you?
I can't seem to access this Nokia profile to retrieve the settings unfortunately.
FOTA should be independent of network - it's a device level mechanism that lets Nokia host (branded, if required) firmware for download. It might be worth checking with Vodafone if you can find a member of customer services who understands the elements involved

I am on Vodafone UK, and had previously Phoenix'd my firmware to a generic V4.0623.0.41. I have just performed a download and update OTA, after checking for updates via the device manager, I only had to select my usual Vodafone GPRS connection and all was fine.
Once downloaded (took seconds over 3G) I had to sit and watch as an 'Updating' progress bar crept ever so slowly across the screen. Probably took 3-4mins, but after the update the phone started back up with all user settings, and more importantly software and associated licenses still intact.
Software that participated in this upgrade (and survived) includes:
Profimail
TomTom
Call Manager
Photorite SP
AgileMessenger
HandySafe
Mobile Google Maps

No, I do not have that facility. I also get the "no server profiles defined" message, but when I select the right softkey ("options") the only choices I get are "New Server Profile", "Help" and "Exit"). I wonder if this is a V4 feature. I'm still on V3.
I suppose that even if I could use do a FOTA update, it still wouldn't be any good for me because clearly there isn't yet a UK Voda V4 firmware available yet (because if there was it'd be available via their PC update tool).
Thanks for trying anyway.

i tried my n80 with nokias update software yesterday aswell, but with different results to what everyone else has got.
download of update took ages! on an 8meg line took nearly 40 mins! and then when it tried updating, also took forever. the fone turned off, i thought was rebooting like when using pheonix, but it never turned back on. a few minutes later nokia updater says software update failed!
now i have a lovely back n80 paperweight! its just dead, wont turn on, nothing *sigh*, and what makes it worse is that i backed all my pics contacts to sim just before, and when i put sim in another fone, nothing!! seems they have disappeared aswell
