Make my phone SHUT UP!

As a new owner of a 9500 and this being my first "smart phone" I must say I greatly miss the vibration functionality of my old regular mobile phone. When I get a call I would like to know and to be notified but in most cases I don't want to annoy the people around me.

What I would like is to use a headset (either the included wired or another bluetooth) and for the phone to ring in my headset but not on the phone's built in speaker. So far I have not been able to do this as the phone will always ring out loud as well as ringing the headset in my ear. I have searched the forums and found that a lot of Nokia 6600 owners have complained the opposite of me (ie. the headset rings but the phone doesn't) but was surprised to find that nobody has a similar complaint as mine. It seems nobody is concerned with keeping their phone usage quiet and discreet...

I have tried using the silent mode and the meeting mode with beep only, but this causes me to simply not hear the incoming call and miss it most of the time. If anybody has any ideas or knows how to turn off the phone's speaker while keeping the headset active I would greatly appreciate the info. Thanks.

make, phone, shut
