Yes there may be a lot of video news, but you can't beat a good book, or some classy British Sci-Fi. So thank the makers that the BBC have brought the two together for the 21st Century. A number of the BBC Novels of Doctor Who are now available to read online or download as eBooks (Mobireader compatible). New fans should start with The Well Mannered War , while Lungbarrow resolves the Cartmell Masterplan. Which means something to a few people...

Downloading and Reading Dr Who books

HI Ewan

I note you article re the bbc books but when I try to download the books i.e. Well Mannered war it gives you a page you can download but not in mobi reader format. Is it just this book that cannot be downloaded in this manner or do I ned to do something else first.

Regards
Neil

For some books you can click on PDA version and download the mobipocket version from that page. Other books are only available in HTML, but with the latest version of Mobipocket reader easily converted into Mobipoket EDocs (simply save the HTML text to disk and convert).

There is some free e-book and text readers for Symbian OS like Mobipocket and QReader. Mobipocket can process Open-eBook and XML/HTML/CSS format. QReader supports Plain text (.txt), Palm DOC (.prc and .pdb), TCR, FB2 and UMD files. Links and more info here.
