N91 wont recognise text files saved from 6230

Recently bought N91 and have old text messages from 6230 saved on pc. But with pc suite installed and when i copy and paste files onto n91, the n91 wont let me open them saying it doesnt recognise file format.
Any thoughts/help please?!
