N80 Contacts issue
Hi everybody, first post here on the forum.
Recently received my N80 and still very happy about it and read alot of interesting tips and tricks here on the forum.
Today something strange started to happen tho. Incoming calls were displayed with their phone number and not contact name, also my outgoing calls were not recognized by the receiving end and thus displayed just my number.
Tried switching SIMs around in different phones and it proved not to be a network nor provider issue.
I ultimately cleared my contacts list and copied em back from SIM which solved the problem of just the phone numbers showing up on incoming calls and I see proper names. However the problem with my number not being recognized by others still exists.
Has anybody had any experience with this problem? I browsed the forum for it but couldnt find it. Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks!

Not heard that one myself, maybe if you did a reset it would rectify the problem

Yea, i'm about to go try that out. Just hope the problem doesn't pop up again.
Had the phone for 3 days now, would dislike it if it comes back in such a short period.
*EDIT*
Well just did the hard reset, and did not improve the situation whatsoever. The problem only seems to occur
between me and my girlfriends phone tho. I tried with multiple ppl a while ago and on both sides names show properly.
Maybe it is a network issue afterall who knows. Ill just keep an eye on it.
If anybody has any suggestions they are very welcome to post.

Hi,
I have the same problem, But only with MY partners No!
Instead of showing her name it shows +44 then phone no.
I wondered if it was her phone but it did not do it with my previous K750i.
Just incase this helps, my N80 is with Orange & hers is with O2.

Haha that is quite peculiar that you have the problem with just your partner as well!
Both me and my girlfriend have the same provider tho, being DNA Finland.

That happened with my N70 and it turned out I had accidentally stored the # twice in my contact list, so whenever someone called through etc it didn't know who to assign it to....

hmm, if it persists though hard reset... hmm...
have you tried to do a full hard reset but then instead of copying numbers from sim, just enter 1-2 manualy and try it like that? maybe ther'es something wrong with the sim entries?

Hmm well, there are not duplicate numbers whatsoever I have checked that carefully. Hard reset didn't help but copying the contacts back to phone from SIM did the trick. Tho it's the issue that my girlfriend doesn't see my number, but I will check her phone if she has my # duplicate in her phone.

I kind of remember something like this on a previous phone with some numbers, some of the numers were put in with 0044 as the country code instead of +44 and it didnt say the callers name untill I changed it round (or it may have been +44 instead of 0044, cant quite remember)
But from the old phone the sim came from it would recognize the numbers in either format thats why I had both formats in my sim

Have checked contacts for duplicates, Have found none.
I might give orange a ring later and see what they say.

Ok here's the deal and it's really stupid
I recently added my girlfriend again in my phone under the .ICE Girlfriend contact name, according to that whole In Case of Emergency trend that is going on.
She had done the same. So that is what happened! I completely forgot about that. You ppl might wanna check if you did the same

Oh, yeah! Duh! Well done. That explains it. I've deleted my ICE contact and now my phone deigns to recognize my boyfriend (when he deigns to ring me up).

And obviously the same issue with my girlfriend's phone
It's a shame tho, neither of us wants to keep eachother in their phonebook
as ICE Boyfriend/Girlfriend only, so we chose to delete those and just keep
eachothers name.
Would be great if this would be supported someday, that your phone would be able to show multiple names, or the name of your choice.
