eidrian = Adrian Vaidos from Romania.
you creepy moron ! midlets are ALREADY COMPRESSED with ZIP compression technique (so called "JAR" files) so your wish shows your idiocy!

What's the problem of this guy? :-? Why is he making speculation about who am I?
Do I have to know about how midlets are compressed, in order to be member of this forum? :-?

yeah i think we should not allowed people who's not registerd to post their comments here.
cause there is already number of cases which involve "guest" that irresponsibly reply with a bad words or gave us a wrong translation,:P and alot of other bad stuff.
btw isn't it just nice if we must registered to use this service ??
so that we know who we are

OK, but going back to this killer app, I have problems with T-Mobile Video Messaging app. When the Video app is used with HantroCP.app and HantroCP.rcs translated in English (hacked) files , the pack/unpack will fail and these two files will be corrupted and cannot be used again.
Anybody else having the same problem, or I just use a wrong version of those two files?
BTW, sCompress didn't fail with this Video app.

I've just installed sdoubler and snails and although i got he 134% compression notice it worked for me - compression and decompression of app before and after playing. Can't be bothered to wait for it to decompress at the moment so it stays uncompressed on my phone. (firmware 3.16 on my phone)
I think it would be good to be able to compress the contents of the images folder and video?
Also it doesn't save my sorting settings. I'd prefer to have them sorted by size whenever I open the prog.
Finally Seleq claims I have 3mb left whilst App. manager says only 1.5mb - i'm guessing App. Manager is correct but why is seleq reporting wrong? About in sDoubler also says i have 3mb free.
I'm sure seleq is wrong since i have snail uncompressed, seleq compressed, hantro compressed, bemused compressed, chess genius compressed, 250kb of sounds and 300kb of pictures + some midlets and a hantro video.
I can only assume sDoubler is like a tardis or something
p.s. no problems with compressing the hacked version of hantro.

.jpg is a compressed image format, and the videos are in divx-format i think, which also is compressed. So zipping it wont do so much of a difference

If that is true it would be realy serius error by PsiNT,but you should backtrace your steps to see if the mistake was on your side before blaming them.

As java games are already packed (.jar) files that packing those again
with zip would result in really minimal savings or sometimes even larger
files. :(

ok, it makes no sense to pack javas or jpegs, but there are a lot of other files - midi, wav, dat, txt, db, the email- and calendar data - why cant they be compressed?

They can be compressed! Moreover entire drive can be compressed.
(Oh, btw, a unique idea so far, not stolen yet, hehe )
After months of hard work we can announce it:
http://www.symbianware.com/product.php?id=sdrive&lang=en
SecureDrive. This project is a face of our FileSystem only (PowerFs is a kind of Linux ext2 file system, but adapted to needs of Symbian powered devices.). As data is read from this disk, SecureDrive automatically decrypts the data before it is loaded into memory. When data is written back to the disk, it is automatically re-encrypted. This process is completely transparent to the user or any application program - the data is caught "on the fly" as it transfers back and forth between the disk and memory.
But we've left a place for compressing layer in our FileSystem that will be available as well in future. Remember old Stacker, Double Disk, Double space, etc? Yes, that's it! Nothing is impossible in this world. It's the matter of time only. Just think about double the disk space, and work with disk as usual, without serios performance loss, and sometimes even faster...
P.s. New version of SmartCompress is coming soon as well.
BTW, keep your eyes on our news there will be some pleasant (freeware! :2gunfire: ) surprises for users very soon

I have tested SpaceDoubler a bit more to see if it is any good and I have to say that it does the job very good! Apart from Snails (which is in alpha version anyways) everything is perfect. I have like more than double the applications installed and still have about 800kb left! This is by far the best memory solution until now, and this automated feature is clearly the winning point! However, like I am, I am searching to find some bugs, if any, before I make my final conclusion. But to be honest this looks very promising!
