So the standby times are looking pretty good already, unless the power dives quickly from here on. Any easy way of accessing the call time, without costing you a fortune?

So far in my experience (5 days with N80) it is the WLan that drains the battery quickly. If you are using Wifi functions battery starts to drain within 3 hours

Thats a pretty reasonable standby time. Are you going to repeat the test with wifi on, or with music running constantly, something like that?

Wi Fi or WLAN is on all the time, it can't be turned off
All you can do is switch the indicator off on the screen and the time it takes to update it
If you go into the Conn Manager it still shows which networks are in range

Yes it is the use of wifi that makes a big difference. Though to be honest thats no different to using 3G data for long periods.

Checked Level 1600 hrs 12th May = Battery Level = 3 Bars
Checked Level 1200 hrs 13th May = Battery Level = 1 Bars
Battery Duration so far 4 Days 20 hrs
It appears that the quoted spec of 192 hrs (8 days) is unreachable.

I have NEVER come across a device, be it phone, laptop or PDA, that ever approaches the quoted battery life. 5 days+ on standby is pretty damn good.

True, on 4 days though, think it may struggle to reach 1600 hrs as get the low batt alarm every so often.
The Duration hasnt concerned me too much - I would say I am used to about 4 days with previous phones and thats includes using.
