New to S60 smartphones and confused by all the icons and the way nothing's to hand when you want it? Steve Litchfield has just the 'How to' for you. Do browse through the rest of AAS's 'How to' section when you get a chance, there's lots you may not have seen.
Some useful thoughts here on organising stuff. I've recently starting using an N90 and it's a great bit of kit. Annoying, however, that lots of shortcuts to apps can't be sent to "GoTo" as it would be usefully assigned to the left or right Selection Key or Active Standby apps. but as you can't send what you like there, it makes "GoTo"'s usefulness much less. And further, it would be equally useful to be able to assign a self-created folder to one of these two places.
For the quickstart in the top 9 position. With newer S60 versions, you can press 1-9 any time inside the main menu or a folder, and you can launch the associated app. For older S60, you can only press 1-9 immediately after you go into the main menu or a folder, once you move the cursor, nothing happens when you press 1-9.
