because there were demanding mail to urged me to post the solution here...so i will give u all the solution...check it out....

1. u need the mp3 codec that i will give to u...u have to install the codec on ur phone

2. Important!!!!....the mp3 file must be save in joint stereo 128 bits 44.1Khz...u can make it using the Db power amp converter..if u dont have the converter, email me...i cant post it here because the file is big even in zip format..cant pass the max limit...sorry for the hustle...

3. How's the phone gonna accept the file...😎 ..it simple...the phone will accept the file when it has id3v2 tag....u can set it by using media player like winamp....just import the file to winamp playlist..right click and choose 'view file info'...

4. Now its ready...one more thing...u have to save the mp3 file in the original sound folder on ur memory card...done...

5. Plz give comment and any sugestion...this is my first post...i really hope that i can help u all....

Been playing around... it doesnt have to be 128 bits for both ogg and mp3. It works with 64 bits and im assuming also other bit rate. Also, for ogg you can make it mono, but for mp3 it either has to be stereo or joint. When tried with mono, the mp3 plays very slow. Also the Khz doesnt really matter either for both format. you can also set it to variable. the only real thing that matters in order for the phone to recognize the format is the id3v2 tag. if its blank, then the phone will not recognize the files.

however, since the speakers for the 6600 isnt exactly good, you cant really hear much difference from a high bitrate and a low one. so to save space try it at 64 bits or lower @ 16 khz mono ogg format. Oh, also if its mono, the sound will play a little bit louder than stereo especially for the vocals or midrange which MAY sound muffled when played.

im a little bit upset with this forum...no offence mod..i just quite suprise that there are so many views in this thread but only a couple of reply post..maybe i should pull this thread off...:frown: 😡

When setup this program to SX1 it say "Can't loading. Series 60 Product ID required".
Is work on SX1?

i have got a virus in my nokia 6600 hand set. a logo appears on my phone" infected by comwarior" how could i get rid of it?

i tried the attached sis files, at first it works, but then it wont play after a few hours, when there is a message, there would be no tone, its just like you made your phone silent. is there ant application that would really work on our phone after installing regarding of the hours after?

is there any application like making mp3 as a ringtone on 6600, other than what you have posted? i tried it, but its only good for a few hours after that, it wont work no more😊 ?

i tried to but the phone got hanged ,., & the ringtone(mp3) was garrbeled.. & was not in proper way.. 😞

HI,

if there is anything regarding ur nokia 6600 or any n60 series, please email me at [email protected].....i will help all of u as far as i can....sorry not to reply to all of u quite some time...hope that i can give helps and suggestion to ur problem......😊 ...bye for now......

thanks a million:icon14:

perfect codec and instructions .

the fact my 6600 would not accept mp3s as ringtones was getting on my nerves since even the new crappy nokias now have that featre (like the 6060)

i love my 6600 but that and not having wifi access through it were the major things making me to think of changing my phone

btw i want to try the .wma type but dbpoweramp has more than one codec (WMA v9.1-----v2) which one should i use ?

I installed the sis file via usb. Installed on the phone its self. I downloaded DBpower amp and winamp and executed the steps in the order givin. When i play the mp3 on the phone and stop the music, choose options, and try to set as ringtone it says MusicPlayer: all ready in use. And if I go to profiles it still states the its not the right format. I have to be missing something please help!?

followed the guide and it works like a charm i can set my mp3 as tone now on my 6600 😊 thanks dude

Also pls let me knw the codec name so that i can reinstall it & try again.
