Windows Mobile Smartphones - The Defence Rests

We don't normally mention software for Windows Mobile devices, but this little gem is worth pointing out (thanks, Richard). Kai's Auto Soft Reset is a scheduling macro form Windows Mobile that will reset your device once every 24 hours to "keep it running smoothly." Discuss...

Don't be sarcastic. It will be ported to Symbian and probably will be more expensive!

Or maybe you are right and we don't need it on Symbian:

Interesting that the posts you link to refer to faulty Symbian phones whereas the software that schedules reboots is for fully functional (so called healthy) Microsoft Smartphones.

It was a joke. But..... even if probably not directly related to the OS I think that early software releases of Nokia S60 phones are usually very unstable...

Mmmm, overkill methinks. My SPV C500 has not had a crash in memory. Older Smartphones (like the E100 and E200) were pretty unstable it is true, but we are 3 iterations of OS further on (2003, 2003SE, WM5). The older Windows PPC OS was also meant to be pretty bad, although maybe WM5 has improved matters?

On the other hand my Orange firmware N70 was so bad I sent it back after 6 days. Quite happy to accept it was down to the firmware but no amount of resets could have made that handset any good.
