Unhappy Sendo x stuck in download mode - help!

Sorry if this doesnt make sense but I will try my best.

Recently bought a sendo x (vodaphone version) as birthday present. Upgraded to latest Expensys firmware and found the IRDA problem was sapping my battery. Unloaded all applications and did a reset using 5 and rebooting it.

Switched to download mode and started to reload the firmware and had it on mains charger and as much battery power as I could muster bearing in mind the massive drain. About 2 thirds of the way through the connection died and the phone started dropping in and out of the download mode, going green then yellow then off and then on again.

I disconnected and and tried another reboot but nothing. Tried reinstalling the USB update drivers but very hard when the phone keeps popping in and out of download mode.

Even took the battery out and then in again and its still stuck in download mode.

Now the phone wont boot up. Even when I have the mains adaptor on the phone just momentarily comes in and out of download mode.

Please help as I have scanned all the threads and have no idea what the right answer might be and the birthday date is looming :(

Thanks.

if the battery was not 100% at the time you were flashing the phone, you may have damaged it with little to no chance of recovery. the only way was to send it to Sendo for repair... and they are no longer...

you may try and reformat the phone - once you have a fresh charge if that can be done - by holding the pwr and 5 key.

yeah i figured that might be the case as there was no way of holding a good charge with the irda problem. When the main adpater is in and I hold the 5 key it gets to earse memory question then dies, I figure this is due to a dead battery. So hopefully its not a dead phone and just a dead battery.

Since I have no other sendo phone I cant recharge the battery for some reason, ie. no charge battery screen, just a brief download mode screen then disappears.

I ordered another battery of a dealer and hopefully there will be enough of an initial charge in it to at least get to reformat then I can recharge normally and breath a sigh of relief.

the phone is not charging while in the download mode - even if the mains charger is in place.

see if you can get it to hold a charge by going to the format screen where you say it dies after you start the format. we need some juice in that battery.

If it is that it has run out of battery power while in download mode your phone may not be dead quite yet. Mine run out of power while in the middle of an upgrade (thought it was charging - socket was off :( ). However I managed to rescue it. Basically I took ground and 3.3v out of the inside of my pc and connected it to the battery terminals of the X. Only do this if you know what your doing though. (Ground are black wires, 3.3 are orange. Connect 3.3 to + terminal and ground to - terminal. You can check this as they are marked on the battery. Ignore the middle pin.) Then I turned it on and finished my upgrade.

All sorted now, bought a spare x and charged the battery and put it in the original and used a screwdriver and took the IR out, took about 10 mins to take the IR out and cleaned the phone out while i was in there.. result? Clean, very responsive sendo x and no IR problem.

Thanks for all your help guys.. one happy guy and hopefully g/f haha!!
