MP3 Mono -> WAV Stereo ?

Okay, MP3 play only a single Stereo channel and this sucks. But how about WAV-files? Do they play in Stereo?

The phone does not have the proper hardware for stereo music playback.It will NEVER play in stereo.You have 2 options:

1)Buy another phone.
2)Compromise!You simply have to live with it.
If you bought 3230 for music playback,then i am sorry you have just wasted your money.

Correct. The phone can only output one, single audio channel (stereo output - two, different channels for left & right earpieces - would require hardware changes) no matter what format audio file you use/play.

When you say NEVER, are you sure, that Nokia cannot incorporate the feature using a FirmWare update?

How do you know that this set lacks the hardware?

"NEVER" is correct. No amount of software in the form of firmware or otherwise can change the fact that the 3230 is missing the required hardware needed for stereo output from the music player (or other applications, except the FM radio, which' chip and other electronics has what it takes).
