Converting to .Ogg Files

I jst download offPlayer...for my P910i....and i wanna knw wht u guyz thnk abt it, and how to convert wav mp3 etc into .ogg, i heard tat ogg help to compress the ogg. files so tat we can save more on our sd cards....how true is tat ?
