Cookies Problem in 9300
Nokia 9300 does not accept cookies from any site, although the option 'Cookies: Always" is activated in the browser.
This is why I cannot connect to any site which requires a login!
My operator (Proximus in Belgium) insists that the problem is not at their end - nor in the compatibility between their GPRS and Nokia.
So it would certainly seem to be a problem on Symbia's browser not accepting cookies even when configureed to do so...
Anybody else had this problem? Any solutions or workaraounds?
Thanks,
Belgo

This seems to be the same problem as I have been having in trying log in to Yahoo as described in the thread
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum...ad.php?t=38091
I hope we will be able to sort it out in the next week or so.

Martin

Yes, it is the same problem. I tried setting the accepting Cookies setting to "Ask". It does then ask if I accept a cookie that the site is trying to send me, and I reply "yes". ... and then it again refuses the cookie. Frustrating.
Hopefully Nokia sorts this one our quickly. Loggin on to some of those sites is vital for me.

Which sites are you having problems with? No problems with cookies here...

Martin and Raven, can you log into this site (allaboutsymbian.com) and post a reply with a Nokia 9300?
I cannot.
I can read the thread, but as soon as I try to login, the problems start.
Same goes to any sites which require a login: my bank, Yahoo (Mail), several newspapers (subscriber pages) etc.
I sent a query to Nokia, but who knows when they'll answer. So could you guys try logging into tis site. It might help to pin down the problem...
Thanks,
Belgo

Well. logging in from WAP works fine. I use a few other sites regularly which requires a login, and my username and password is always remembered. When you say you cannot login to ANY site there is obviously a problem with your phone/browser/. Perhaps some system files in the Web application have gotten corrupted... Have you tried to reformat?

No I have not reformatted anything, no.
What should I reformat?
I am afraid I would just make the whole phone unseable... so I'd rather not.
WAP may work ok, but not GPRS. I have tried turning on manual acceptance of cookies, but it does not help.
Quite annoying.
Thanks,

GPRS is only the connection type - whether you browse WAP or standard WWW sites you are connected through GPRS, or in some cases (HS)CSD (dial-up) - though that is rarely used anymore.
Just take a back-up of C: drive, remove the battery and press and hold Ctrl+Shift+F during start-up to reformat the internal (C: ) drive.

Hi, im a 7710 user and i had the same problem, couldnt log in yahoo mail, but i find out a solution....
Just under the field where u type ur password, u can choose between standard and secure log in, well i choose secure, then input user name and password, and press log in, after this i get a "general error", but then just press the log in button again and its ok, i can access my yahoo mail and download files or anything.
And with other sites can happen the same, just try, but yes its annoying this problem.

Hi Manchas, could bear with this slight inconvenience but neither of the above nor bank's website has this selection as you mentioned. Also, from Raven eg of WAP, there is very limited sites and most user would stick to www. instead.
Yes, Hotmail will not could see log in see those message but could not open, as for the Google.groups it will seem logged in but will not proceed and the status bar showed "Completed"!!

I wasn't talking about WAP only. I can log in to WWW sites as well:

I solved the problem!
The connection I used until now was my operator's GPRS connection. I realized that on my phone there was another connection available, called Interactive. Once I selected that, and voila! the cookies problem was gone! It seems that in the shop they had configured my 9300 to use WAP as priority access!!
I can now log into Yahoo mail and other web based emails as well as the newspaper sites I needed.
So:
If you have problems connecting to Yahoo, take a look at the options available in Control Panel - Connections - Internet Setup. Make sure you have the priority order set right.
To see what is actually behind each connection name listed, select it and press Edit and then Advanced. Make sure you have Internet (and not WAP!!) connection set as the top priority connection.
Good luck!
