NO Active Standby on Orange 6680!!
I've just bought a 6680 on Orange. Orange have really gone to town with screwing up the software.
I hate the Orange Standby Screen, and really want to customise it, and also turn on Active Standby if possible.
How would I go about this? There are no options for customising the Standby screen in settings, phone, standby screen, apart from defining keypress shortcuts.
Any tricks / mods / flashes etc anyone knows of would be greatly appreciated!
many thanks
Jonny

Only way: Have the phone reflashed with a retail version of firmware instead of the Orange version.

Maybe active standby was turned off? go to settings > general > standby > active standby... If not, reflash :( orange really suck because they turn off most of the default features of phones

Do I understand you right - you want to costomise your stanby screen - IE change the background picture - colours etc.
That is not done from the standby menu - all the standby menu does is let you set the softkeys like you said.
You want to find the 'themes' icon, I've moved mine into the 'tools' folder so not sure where you'll find yours, but open it up and play in there - also to set a new wallpaper go into your 'gallery' and find the picture you want as the wallpaper, press 'options' then 'set as wallpaper'.

On an Orange branded 6680 there's a different Orange-specific standby display that cannot be changed to what's available on other 6680 variants (by default).

Reformatting will make no difference to things in ROM.
