RAFE Should be Proud

Hi guys,

I post here because I am so angry... so Damn angry...
Did not anybody take a look at what hapends "to the other site"?
I mean the site of "The other guy" (or whatever he likes to call himself?)

I mean my-symbian site.

Well I was very, very surprised to see that the forum site on that adress (well known as...I should stop here) is simply...Allabousymbian site....

God damn...is amasing.. I did not have time to check the emoticons, but it look...identical.

Good work RAFE, he gets a lot of free stuff from we know hwo...and also gets the style of your Forum....

Rafe Insipires :agrue:

Well to be honest this "style" you are refering is the forum, which I have to say is the best forum there is. But its not made BY Rafe, but used by him! (Although you have to give credit to Rafe for using it). Anyways, the other side(or site) you are refering might got the idea from this site BUT did not steal it! If you go on the net alot you will see that a lot of web sites are using this type of forum which you can download for free BTW.

However, I use allaboutsymbian.com for other reasons than the layout! I like the community!

Yep the forum is free check the "Powered by phpBB 2.0.3 © 2001, 2002 phpBB Group" string underneath the forum for info.
This is the best forum and used by many. But I do aggree although they all use the forum only this one is the real one!
And with the newserver it rulez over the forum on that other site.
My-Symbian.info is built from the shop feature. This site is built from the forum community. I don't see the use of the forums on my-symbian.info because this one is better

But this is a motivation for us to make this forum and communtiy even better so that people will be encouraged to see this as the primary forum and maybe once in a while when bored visit that other forum

Of course there is no point to compare this site and forum with the others, although the competition is always good... This site have a much, much better and nice community... when the other seems to be only shopping oriented.

Keep the good work, and who knows..., eventually you will got the deserved attention also from inside Nokia , although I think you already got some...

And if he doesn't I will sell my phone and buy an SVP :P

The funny thing is that Nokia have a Foreword in the Series 60 Book!

They say and I quote:

"We believe that years of experience with modbile phones, user interface development, and listening to our customers have paid off in the Series 60 Platform."

Heheh! "listening to our customers" Yeah right!

Actually this forum software isn't mine, I just installed configured it. My-Symbian.com are perfectly justified in using it too. You could say we both like to use the best

I certainly have no objection.

I really appreciate the friendliness of this community. It makes running it hassle free (is) and a lot more fun.

true, true... and yes the site format is great but i think it is open for use to everybody - i saw the same forum format when i checked out NLSC (i think, i dont really remember the name) its a coomunity of NBA Live 2k3 gaming freaks. but as mentioned here, it's the hominess of the community that serves to many people as major reason of coming here. this is truly a great helpul site with or without the format!

This is the DEFAULT layout, the only one supplied with phpBB installation.

For your information: phpBB is a forum system. The best of them. Thousands of sites use it. Something like 70% with THIS, DEFAULT style. Everybody is free to use phpBB. I didn't bother to implement custom styles as the default one is good enough.

I am truly amazed by how people can hate other people just for nothing. And how easy accuse others just because they don't know what they are talking about.

For your information2: My-Symbian.com used to have a NNTP (usenet) news server (since early 2000) with thousands of visitors and tens of thousands of posts. We were running it long before this forum existed. We switched to Web based board because of costs of separate NNTP server. Better check next time before making a fool of yourself.

To My-Symbian.com: As much as i respect you and your website i'll have to put my foot down here.TheSpecialBoy made an honest mistake, you dont have to trow it in his face for that,it was even replayed by sean that this layout is used by many websites. And what about the comparison with AAS? Why do you speak with such anger? I really dont care if My-Symbian.com existed long time before AAS and had thousands of users with tens of thousands of posts.
Your replay to his post is not much better then his post.He made a mistake, what about you?
